SIDI MIMOUNE

190m² Riad, Marrakech
Complete renovation / Design brief
Completion: September 2019
Project in collaboration with Lup31 – Ludovic Petit
This project involved the full restructuring and renovation of a riad in the heart of Marrakech, with the aim of cultivating a serene and intimate atmosphere.
We reimagined the internal layout by redesigning the architectural framework and optimizing both the spatial organization and room access. A wide spiral staircase was introduced at the core of the building, redefining circulation and offering direct access to the rooftop terrace—now the centerpiece of the home with its panoramic views over the neighborhood and surrounding gardens.
By enlarging openings and installing glass partitions, the living spaces were significantly brightened and made more comfortable. We developed a palette of natural tones paired with local craftsmanship—traditional ochre-colored tadelakt floors, white plaster walls, black wrought ironwork, and hand-built niches and fireplaces—paying tribute to the riad’s heritage and its context.
The interiors were furnished with a curated mix of contemporary and Moroccan pieces, creating a refined and harmonious living environment.
