We are Pauline and Sophie, friends first and then business partners, founders of Petit Jour Architecture.

 

We are two interior architects based in Paris, driven by the same ambition: to design spaces that make sense, that last, and that tell a story, the story of the place, of the people who live there, and a little of our own too.

Petit Jour was born from our rapport, our complementary strengths, and our shared vision of the profession, which is to be rigorous, committed, and joyful. We move forward together with high standards and heart, and we strive to create spaces that are sensitive, functional and sustainable, where every detail has its place.

 

We support our clients from the first idea through to handover, including design, administrative procedures, contractor consultations, site supervision. For us, the brief and the budget, but also the historical, cultural or emotional context of a place, are precious materials from which each project is born.

We work on a wide range of projects, such as homes, shops, restaurants, hotels. What changes are the regulations and technical constraints. What remains is our way of thinking about space with imagination, rigor and sincerity.

 

We love craftsmanship, things done well, raw materials, and the human relationships that shape every project.

 

Sophie has a taste for handmade work. She has explored cabinetmaking, basketry, and botanical dyeing. Always curious, she draws inspiration everywhere and imagines a thousand ways of inhabiting spaces with poetry, common sense and practicality. She is meticulous and likes to think through every small detail, which is what makes the projects she leads so high in quality.

Pauline, a mother of two, balances agency life and family life with both gentleness and high standards. She focuses on translating ideas into clear plans and balanced, warm spaces. She loves books, nature and theatre.

Together, we form a lively, close knit duo, driven by the desire to do things well and make them beautiful, while respecting places, budgets and our clients’ wishes.
