Biscuit and Chocolate Workshop-Boutique, Paris 2nd arrondissement
Complete renovation of a 53m² boutique
Completion: February 2025
Photography: Jean-Baptiste Thiriet

This project involved transforming a former ready-to-wear shop into a biscuit and confectionery workshop, offering sweet creations such as chocolates, madeleines, and cookies.
Mandipili opened its doors at 89 Rue d'Aboukir, in the heart of the Sentier district in Paris.

The pink storefront — one of the brand’s signature colors — served as the starting point for the overall palette, which includes a vibrant orange that draws the eye from the street.
To keep costs down and out of simple common sense, we reused all existing materials that could be salvaged: for example, we repurposed solid oak from the original furniture to create the new custom carpentry — including the bench and shelves we designed.
The central tiled island, filled with sweet treats, welcomes visitors as they enter the shop. Its curves echo those of one of our clients’ signature products: the madeleine! It contrasts with the refrigerated display case clad in custom bronze-tinted mirrors.
In the background, behind a glass partition, is the workshop area — deliberately kept visible to customers.

We very much enjoyed designing this boutique, drawing on the brand’s world to offer our clients a production and retail space tailored to their needs and identity.
